ABOUT SHAHEEN HASHMAT
Shaheen is a writer and campaigner against forced marriage in the UK. She has written extensively in the press about her own experience of escaping the threat of forced marriage when she was 12 years old, focusing specifically on the long-term psychological impact. Having previously worked at Girls Not Brides and Save the Children International, Shaheen is now Senior Project Manager for the Living Wage Foundation‘s global initiative. She continues to campaign behind the scenes in her spare time for improved legislation and access to support for individuals affected by forced marriage in the UK.
