I’m passionate about the ways cities shape our health — ways that at the same time are both local and global — and reshaping cities to tackle health inequalities. I’m particularly interested in the role of data, design thinking and impact investment in social change.

I run one of the UK’s largest charitable foundations. We’re especially interested in working with the owners of environments that people pass through — for example, supermarkets, housing associations, social media platforms etc. — to test ways in which they can promote more equitable health outcomes.
ABOUT KIERON BOYLE
Kieron Boyle is Chief Executive of Guy’s and St Thomas’ Charity, one of the world’s largest urban health foundations. He heads the Charity’s efforts to address the complex health challenges of inner-city areas — leading programmes to reduce childhood obesity, slow people’s progression to multiple long-term conditions and find innovative solutions to the health effects of air pollution. Prior to this, Kieron led the UK government’s work on impact investment. In this role he was the UK representative to the G8 taskforce on social impact investment, and led initiatives creating the Access foundation, Dementia Discovery Fund and the Dormant Assets Commission. Previous roles were at No.10 Downing Street, the Department for Business, Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit and the Boston Consulting Group. Kieron sits on the Boards of Big Society Capital, the world’s first social investment bank, the Design Council and Catch22. He a is member of the Mayor of London’s Childhood Obesity Taskforce and on the advisory council of the Impact Investing Institute. He also chairs the Investment Committee of Nesta’s Cultural Impact Development Fund. In 2014 Kieron was selected as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum.
