At Money A+E we want to work with corporates, large public and voluntary sector employers to deliver our wellbeing programmes for and with their staff. Finally, you can help by sponsoring one of our personal finance mentoring courses for young people living in poverty.

ABOUT JERRY DURING

I grew up and live in Newham, one of the most ethnically diverse and poorest boroughs in the country. From a young age, I saw my father struggle with debt due to redundancy. At home, there was stress and tension, the threat of marital breakdown, the threat of eviction, bailiff harassment and more. Some years later he overcame these challenges, paid off his mortgage and went on holidays twice a year. My father says two things helped him overcome at that time: support from family, friends and peers in a similar situation and who came from his community; and support from an expert non-profit providing options, solution and hope. His experience had a massive influence on me, and both lived experience and expert advice runs through the delivery of all the services we provide at Money A+E. I have worked in the social welfare and justice field for the last 20 years, designing, innovating and collaborating on social innovations to support the most disadvantaged and vulnerable. I worked with Legal aid law firms, CABx, Toynbee Hall, Institute of Money Advisers, Advice UK, Citizens UK, The Inclusive Economy Partnership and Money A+E.
