Dami Makinde

Activist, Campaigner, Public Speaker, and Community Organiser

Impact Fellow

“I am a conduit for change”

I’M PASSIONATE ABOUT

I’m most passionate about social justice because I believe in equity of treatment. I believe in standing up for what is right and holding those in government to account. I am also passionate about mental health, because ‘health is wealth’ and I’m an advocate for self and collective care.

YOU CAN HELP ME BY

Supporting We Belong (an organisation I co-founded), and its campaigns against the treatment of migrants. We would love it if people can follow us on our social media platforms, as well as donate to our cause so that we can continue to fight another day.

ABOUT DAMI MAKINDE

Dami is an activist, a campaigner, a public speaker, and a community organiser. She has a passion for activism which began when she, like many other young migrants like herself, was faced with the injustice that prevents them from achieving their potentials and contributing fully to the British society they call home. In 2017, she was seconded to the London Mayor’s office and began a forum to build a bridge between the Mayor and all London migrants. In the same year, she became an Eisenhower Youth Leader and has spoken out against the UK’s hostile environment worldwide.
