The Conduit is a collaborative community for people from all walks of life who share an interest in social impact. To foster a relaxed environment that is conducive to entrepreneurship and innovation we have certain House Rules that we expect all members to adhere to.
The Conduit is a safe space for the curious who are authentic, collaborative, generous and action orientated. To maintain this sense of community, and respect people’s time and privacy, we have a no pitch policy. If you have a business to pitch, are looking for investment or seeking any other form of funding, please speak to our programme team and join one of our pitch sessions.
Member Contact Details
Together with you, we want to build a meaningful and collaborative community – and that means staying in touch. Please ensure you update your Membership profile when you change any of your contact information.
Please respect the confidentiality of events, which in general are under Chatham House Rules. We want to be a safe space for constructive dialogue and for this people need to know they can safely speak their mind. Please also respect the confidentiality of our members and do not share our members list or event attendee lists with other people.
The Conduit respects and protects the privacy of all its members. With this in mind – taking photos in an appropriate and respectful way – is acceptable. No video or photo shoots can take place without prior written consent from The Conduit.
We appreciate meaningful social media posts but again please be respectful of members’ and The Conduit’s privacy. Please do not post any pictures or any information of other members or their guests without their prior consent. Harmful and demeaning posts about The Conduit are not acceptable. We encourage and appreciate feedback at The Conduit, so please come and talk to us directly if you have any concerns.
Please be respectful and do not disturb or harass other members, guests of our members or our employees. We are a community that encourages generosity and collaboration. We do not tolerate any forms of discrimination or harassment.
Reporting and Publication Policy
In order for our members to feel comfortable and relaxed, we operate a strict no reporting policy. This means that any conversation or interaction at The Conduit should be regarded as off the record and is not for reporting unless explicit prior written confirmation is given. This applies to both members and guests. For our members and guests who are themselves members of the press (journalists, bloggers, influencers) when you are at The Conduit, please consider yourself to be off duty unless you have prior written consent to do an interview. Do not attempt to conduct any unsolicited interviews and do not report any conversation, activity, event or engagement at The Conduit without prior written consent.
The Conduit is a co-created community and it is important you feel you can discuss any issues or suggestions that you may have – at all times. Members are encouraged to share comments or ideas with the General Manager or the Membership Team. If issues are of a serious nature, please put them in writing to the attention of the General Manager.
We welcome children of all ages at The Conduit. Children up to, and including the age of 17, can come as your guests and can be in the building until 6pm. They must be accompanied by an adult member at all times. Children and babies are welcome at Conduit events but please be respectful of other attendees. If your baby starts to cry or your child is no longer enjoying the event, we would ask that you leave before distracting others. Breastfeeding is allowed and if you would like a quiet space, please do speak to a member of our Team and they will assist you. The Conduit may change this policy at any time and please contact our Membership Team if you have any children-oriented special requests.
You can bring 3 guests with you at any one time. You must be present with them at all times. If you would like to attend an event you can also sign up 3 guests, unless the event has limited spaces, in which case, you may be able to only bring 1 guest with you. There also may be occasions when an event is for members only and we will let you know upon booking. If you make a reservation in the restaurant, library or lounge, you can bring the number of guests corresponding to your reservation. You can also book a conference room if you need to meet with more than 3 people. Please do not hesitate to contact our Membership Team with any special requests.
Well behaved dogs are allowed on the 5th and 6th floors until 6pm and must be on a leash at all times; they are not allowed on the furniture. Guide dogs are allowed everywhere in the building. If a dog is disturbing other members, The Conduit reserves the right to ask the member to leave with their dog.
Mobile Phones & Laptops
You are welcome to use your mobile phone in the stairs or on the 5th Floor but please speak quietly. Please be respectful of those around you and do not have your device on speakerphone. You can work on your laptop until 6pm on all floors with the exception of the 5th Floor where you can work until 8pm.
Smoking and vaping are allowed on the 5th Floor balconies but are prohibited throughout the rest of the building.
Illegal substances are not allowed anywhere within The Conduit. This includes using, ingesting or dealing such substances. Any member – or guest of member – caught with illegal substances will have their membership terminated immediately.
Members must respect the rights and privileges of all other members and their guests and shall not create an atmosphere disturbing to others. The Conduit has the right to refuse service of alcohol. We are building a community of members who must respect one another but also must respect the neighbourhood in which we belong. We have the right to ask you to leave at any time.
Outside Food and Drink
Please do not bring any outside food or beverages into The Conduit unless it is medically necessary or for young children.
A discretionary service charge of 12.5% will be added to all bills. Members are obviously welcome to tip more for exceptional service.
If you have lost something in the building, please call Reception immediately. Anything found in The Conduit will be kept for a period of 1 month, before being given away. We will make every effort to contact the owner of a lost item – if we can ascertain who it is. The Conduit is not responsible for your property at any time.
