The Conduit is a collaborative community for people from all walks of life, who share an interest in social impact. We want to create a relaxed and sociable environment, conducive to both innovation and friendship. With that in mind, below are a few house rules that we ask all members to respect.
The Conduit is a safe space for curious and authentic people to connect and explore new ideas. To maintain this sense of community, and to respect everyone’s time and privacy, we have a no pitch policy. If you are looking for investment or seeking any other form of funding, please get in touch with the Conduit Connect.
Stay in Touch
We want to work with you to build a meaningful and collaborative community – and that means staying in touch. Please ensure you update your membership profile when you change any of your contact information.
Keep it Confidential
Please respect the confidentiality of events, which in general are under Chatham House Rules. We want to be a safe space for constructive dialogue and for this people need to know they can safely speak their mind. Please also respect the confidentiality of our members and do not share our members list or event attendee lists with other people.
Please respect and protect the privacy of your fellow members when taking photos in the space. No video or photo shoots can take place without prior written consent from The Conduit. Please get in touch with email@example.com for more details. If we have photography or video at our events, we’ll always let you know on the day and give you the chance to opt out.
Sharing on Social Media
Feel free to snap and share away on social media (we’re @theconduitlondon on Instagram by the way!) but please do not post any pictures or any information of other members or their guests without their prior consent. Harmful and demeaning content focused on The Conduit community is not acceptable. We encourage and appreciate feedback, so please come and talk to us directly if you have any concerns.
Act with Respect
Please be respectful and do not disturb or harass other members, guests of our members or our employees. As a community, we encourage generosity, kindness and collaboration. We do not tolerate any forms of discrimination or harassment.
Reporting and Publication Policy
In order for our members to feel comfortable, we operate a strict no reporting policy. This means that any conversation or interaction at The Conduit (with either members or guests) should be regarded as off the record and is not for reporting unless explicit prior written confirmation is given. For our members and guests who are themselves members of the press (journalists, bloggers, influencers): when you are at The Conduit, please consider yourself to be off duty unless you have prior written consent to do an interview. Do not attempt to conduct any unsolicited interviews and do not report any conversation, activity, event or engagement at The Conduit without prior written consent.
The Conduit is a co-created community and it is important you feel you can discuss any issues or suggestions that you may have at any time. We encourage you to share your comments or ideas with the Membership Team. If issues are of a serious nature, please put them in writing to the attention of your Community Manager.
Bringing Children to The Conduit
Children of all ages are welcome at The Conduit! Children up to, and including, the age of 17 can come as your guests and can be in the building until 6pm (accompanied by an adult member at all times). Children and babies are welcome at Conduit events but please be respectful of other attendees. If you would like a quiet space for breastfeeding, please do speak to a member of our team. Feel free to get in touch with the Membership & Community Team if you have any special requests about bringing kids to The Conduit.
Kindly remember that guests are only allowed in the space in the company of a member. You can bring three guests with you at any one time during the day, and up to five guests after 6pm. You can often bring guests along to events taking place at The Conduit, depending on the demand and spaces available (please check individual event descriptions for full details). If you book a table to eat at The Conduit, you can bring the number of guests corresponding to your reservation. For any special requests, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with the Membership & Community Team.
Paws for Thought
Well-behaved dogs are allowed on the 5th and 6th floors until 6pm. Please keep dogs on a lead at all times and with paws off the furniture! Guide dogs are allowed everywhere in the building at any time. If a dog is disturbing other members, The Conduit reserves the right to ask the owner to leave with their dog.
Using Mobile Phones & Laptops
You are welcome to use your mobile phone in the stairwell, in the Speakeasy or on the 5th Floor but please be respectful of those around you and do not have your device on speakerphone. You can work on your laptop on the 5th Floor and The Speakeasy until 8pm. In case of floor closures, we’ll always make sure there are two floors available for laptop usage.
Smoking and vaping are allowed at the back of the 6th floor terrace but are prohibited throughout the rest of the building. You’re also free to smoke or vape in front of the building.
Illegal substances are not allowed anywhere within The Conduit. This includes using, ingesting or dealing such substances. Any member – or guest of member – caught with illegal substances will have their membership terminated immediately.
Do Not Disturb
Please respect the rights of your fellow members and their guests – as well as the neighbourhood in which we belong – and avoid creating an atmosphere that’s disturbing to others. The Conduit has the right to refuse service of alcohol. We have the right to ask you to leave at any time.
Food and Drink
Please do not bring any outside food or beverages into The Conduit unless it is medically necessary or for young children.
A discretionary service charge of 12.5% will be added to all bills. Members are obviously welcome to tip more for exceptional service.
Lost & Found
If you have lost something in the building, please call Reception as soon as possible so that we can try and track it down for you. Anything found in The Conduit will be kept for a period of one month, before being given away to a local charity. We will make every effort to contact the owner of a lost item (if we can ascertain who it is!). The Conduit is not responsible for your property at any time.
Impact Fellows, Under 33 & Student Discounts
Our Impact Fellows, Under 33 Members and Student Members can enjoy a 33% discount off food and drinks all day on Sundays (including brunch!) and Mondays.
